my favourite joke in The Sheep Detectives is that there's neon signs everywhere in Denbrook, including the police station, and you don't really think about it until you see the neon sign that offers a discount on neon signs

hey, i’m shaking you. domestic tokka: toph running her fingers through sokka’s hair while he slowly falls asleep to the repetitive motion. sokka brushing dirt out of her hair after missions. knowing exactly which kind of tea the other one likes. late night conversations where they talk about everything and nothing. holding hands under the table just to ground each other. sitting together to cut fruit. making sure the other actually eats during busy days. being in each other’s presence while the other one is sick. cooking for each other without needing a reason. toph putting a blanket on him as he sleeps at his lab and silently taking over part of the work before he burns himself out. sokka fixing the clasps on her armor, tying loose straps back into place, adjusting things with careful hands. sokka warming her hands when they get cold by holding them in-between his own. toph sharpening his weapons for him because she notices when they’re worn down before he does. listening to each other rambling and complaining endlessly just because. sharing chores without ever discussing it because they naturally fall into taking care of each other. two people who carry too much responsibility finally letting themselves rest because they trust the other enough to. the kind of love that lives in acts of devotion found in ordinary moments, in noticing, in remembering, in making life a little easier for the other person every single day.
