June 4, 2026 - Activists in Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, targeted several tram units manufactured by CAF, a Spanish rail manufacturer and transport infrastructure company.
The vehicles, which were destined for Israel, were smashed with hammers, covered in red paint and spray-painted with messages accusing CAF of complicity with the Israeli genocide.
The group said they acted after identifying tram units intended for Tel Aviv, arguing that CAF is involved in transport infrastructure projects such as the Jerusalem Light Rail, which links Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank with Jerusalem.
These projects help sustain and expand illegal settlements, and contribute to the displacement and restriction of Palestinian communities.
Similar concerns have been raised by 83 civil society organizations from 26 countries, which have described CAF as an “important facilitator” of Israel’s occupation. [video]/[video]
