Once again, centre stage, though.. Not in a way he had imagined..  Amongst the greenery of a TV world, not tainted by a presence such as his, nor the matriarch of the white fog. He had seen it like this once. Briefly.     Before an ordeal of his own orchestrating,  the kidnapping of Labrys... And what followed. A shadow GOD, yes. at home, in this other world, unlike that of Inaba- the few shadows that lurked nearby, of course..  answered to his every whim.  Even still.  

Broken. Cast into the depths of the human unconscious by that brat.  ...Maddening, yet. Utterly HILARIOUS.  - a laugh rings out. detestable in sound, dripping with poison, sweetly saccharine, yet chilling to one’s core.  

Ah, if only things were simple enough to .. regain strength over a period of time.  But he knew that wouldn’t be an option. After all.. That self proclaimed ‘protector’ of this realm.  He’d notice? Wouldn’t he?

Well. A true showman could always stand to do some improvisation. And in a state such as this,  displays of grandeur were not possible.

That didn’t matter as such. The deity aimed to make this encounter much more personal.

“Look Mona all we’re in here for is to scan the new area and then we’re going to leave alright? We’re not going to engage the enemy or anything so we shouldn’t have to worry.” She reassured the not a cat cat that was currently standing beside her in the new path that had just unlocked. Joker was currently busy with work so they decided not to go to mementos today. They were going to go tomorrow though so she wanted to surprise them with knowledge that she wouldn’t otherwise have, which was the general idea of what the shadows were in the area and what the possible layouts of the ever shifting mementos could be.

Summoning Necromonicon she started to scan the area with her powers, checking for shadows that were wandering around and then just seeing what this layout was like. The further they got down within mementos the more of an ominous feeling there was within the area, like the weight of society was pushing on them more and more. Who knew what awaited them at the bottom, and while they were curious, they still had to deal with whatever palaces they could. Which with their notoriety was going to be harder and harder to avoid authorities.

“Hang on Mona there’s something headed our way. It appears to be a shadow but I can’t exactly tell. It’s different from anything that we’ve experienced here. Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come.” She told Mona who was getting into a battle position. She made her way out of Necronomicon and would watch as what appeared to be a bear? It was very weird, was walking up to the entrance of the area they were in. It didn’t appear to be hostile but both of them were on guard and ready to exit to the entrance of Mementos immediately if it were to strike them.

There was always something a little off about being in a store so late at night, but in a good way, he thought.

Adachi had picked up a small part-time job at the local Junes chain, but it wasn’t anything steady; just picking up extra shifts and making enough each month to scrape enough cash together for rent and instant ramen. He’d been insistent only to work in the evenings, hoping that maybe sometime during the day he’d get a call from the many, many theaters he’d contacted and he’d finally get the big break that could get him out of this backwoods town and back into the city. He did like the nighttime shift, though, in all honesty. The lack of people in the store and the bright fluorescent lights contrasting the thunderstorm outside.

His shift had already ended, and he’d taken off his apron and put on a ratty crimson hoodie, waiting for the rain to let up so he could lock up and head home. He’d been wandering around the closed store, ambling until he reached the electronics department and stared at the TVs and cameras he’d never be able to afford.

Looking at the electronics department reminded him of something. Hadn’t he heard a rumor that if you looked into an unplugged TV at midnight on a rainy night, that you’d see your soulmate? Everyone in town was talking about the rumor, almost as much as the murders that had made his rent so cheap. Well, lord knew Adachi needed a soulmate. He checked the clock on the wall. 23:45, and the rain showed no sign of stopping. Might as well unplug one of the TVs and see if the rumor was true. What was the harm in giving it a try, no matter how childish it was?

✞  ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧  HE KNEW EVERY ROOM, ACTUALLY.   Not by heart, it’s just that he happens to be old partners with a man Mitsuru for some reason trusts with their private servers, including files of all digital layouts of the building.

   And he had a feeling he had the right door. With the... decor, outside. It took some patience... but after a while the priest heard the click of the door. What they would have seen was the towering, thin figure, his eyes slightly gleaming in the dimly lit hall, but everything about his posture insisting he wasn’t a threat. Sickly almost, with his shoulders slack as he gripped his one still limp and bandaged arm.  What Takaya saw, however, through the slit of an opening he was given, was that the hand that opened the door was coming from the floor.    ❝ Howdy. Are you... alright Teddie? ❞  He crouches to meet them at the floor.    ❝ I saw you run off after all that... noise, before. I’m not here to turn you in-- obviously. I just... I don’t think anyone else has managed to even notice you left. ❞   He nearly sneers in jest, and he was subtle. Just the right amount of attitude for his gesture to seem believable, layers of tact in his tone, as if he could make you believe he was actually trying to hide that he might have sincerely cared more than he wanted to let on.

“Teddie-san. Would you mind me asking where you have gotten the ability to come up with nicknames on the go and with a variety? I need to pick an alias due to the multitude of Shiroganes and lack all sorts of creativity when it comes to gifts, nicknames and informal manners to spend time.” It was a bit odd as the first talk topic, but she had already ruined her calm facade so she had nothing to lose.

✞  ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧  FATE HAS A FUNNY WAY  of getting things that need you to always find you. At least, so the devout wheel of fortune believed, fascinated by the colorful shadow he brushed elbows with and was so... charmingly pranked by the other day. However, from his view so far, his suspicions are assured. The shadow was merely celebrating the holiday-- behaving as normal amongst other humans in the normal world, such humans utterly unaware of what creature was in their presence. Funny indeed, almost laughable. He’s seen enough of this comedy to get the gist.

“That’s... we need to at least get you to the hospital or ER for a quick check-up. A healing item or even a Revival Bead isn't going to get you in any better shape." Naoto wasn't paying attention to other thab finding out how badly hurt Teddie was nor cared how she looked unusually worried. Her the to not focus on her new aqcuintances getting injured due to their rash actions had been disrupted, but like Hell she'd ignore Teddie's situation right now.
