What I'm taking from this is that I can now hold a family friendly version of the Barbarella viewing party (ok, a party of two, but the hilarity made up for it) that my husband and I held last week. This is excellent news, thank you Sam.

I mean, it is technically family friendly, but it’s also weird as fuck, so be prepared for questions like “What part of the dragon is he pulling those helmets out of?” and “Did that dog really assdrag on the floor of Buckingham Palace?”

Is it as racist as the books? I'm assuming not because you totally would have said

I mean there are for sure a couple of problematique moments, but without having read the books and only having HEARD about how horrifyingly racist they are, I’m gonna go with “It’s an improvement.” 

I’m still trying to decide if the tiger is meant to be a Jewish stereotype or not.

the worst idea of all time podcast did a really great doolittle miniseries where they watched it back to back to back 3 times in theaters throughout one day and it’s really fuckin great i highly recommend

Huh. I assumed this was an old post (out on DVD!) about a pre-IronMan RDjr taking what work he could get, but Google says this is a 2020 release so new as of May that it’s on multiple streaming services to rent. I don’t know what to do with this information.

Better -- this was an RDJ passion project. He and his wife produced it. I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s because they’ve got kids in the target age demographic, but yeah. Everything about this was deliberate.

I was afraid to see this movie because I have an overactive embarrassment squick, but now… I think I’m reassured?  ;-D

Honestly I get terrible second-hand embarrassment and there was none of that to be found. Part of it is that most of the characters just seem incapable of feeling shame, but mostly it just moves too fast. Any moment that could have been embarrassing is just elided right on past because there’s too much to get done.

1. What was it called, Charlett? I mean Jason/Charlie/Connor. I think this one might be your fault. ;) And, well, obviously Jarlie, though I only really started shipping them after went to Canada, because of course. Also, I did ship Jason/Danny in the early days.

2. Aaron? Oh, god, I don’t think I shipped him with anyone. He was just a terrible boyfriend all around who either ditched a woman in the middle of the road or got her killed. Or turned into a weird nano-spokeperson. yeah, no, no ships for Aaron. (See, every rule has an exception, even me being a multishipper. ;))

3. Danny? Yeah, I think he would be known as himbo today. Danny/Bass (I even wrote fic. Oops.) Danny/Heather (Great, now I remembered the unfinished fic.) And as mentioned before, Danny/Jason.

5. Jeremy: certainly with Bass, also chain-of-command aka Jeremy/Bass/Miles, but my personal fave is Jeremy/Emma. Also, Jeremy/Maggie (and now I remembered another WIP. *sigh*) and Jeremy/Charlie. (Well, he was a fandom bicycle. And don’t remind me of MP, we in ole commie countries have an expression for people like him.)

Well, Echo’s usually my go to and she’s one of the tops. I especially appreciate the waves in the front and the carefully placed side bangs.

But I’m really digging Raven’s new hair, even though I’m pretty sure it’s another indicator of her falling apart and not being able to put herself together like before. Or maybe I’m thinking too much. Either way, it’s good, and I want to run my hands through it.

And I don’t know if she didn’t put as much blood/gel in it or she somehow got hair dye straight out of cryo - maybe bonding time with Niylah? - but Octavia’s looking distinctly better hair-wise than last season.

You might want to stay behind that blast shield for a little while longer, my dear…I heard something just like this this afternoon on Reddit, and, honestly, it made me want to:

What Clarke stans fail to realize is that Clarke Griffin ALWAYS has a fucking choice!! Her problem, is that her “choices” most of the time result in her sacrificing innocent lives in the name of “protecting her people”, and then claims she “had no choice”!

Clarke literally, from the moment Bellamy stepped foot back on Earth, did not give zero fucks about his feelings or his family’s lives and whether they where in danger or not. Hell, she didn’t even care about her own MOTHER until she saw she had overdosed! The only time she even remotely “cared” about Spacekru was when she knew that Bellamy would protect Madi too; but the instant Bellamy put HIS FAMILY’S lives as priority, Clarke decided instantly that they where all disposable. 

Even though Madi was never in any danger and she would be protected by Bellamy, Indra AND Gaia - the 3 people who would guarantee her safety no matter what. But Clarke refused to trust either of them; she refused to let anybody else be in control.

So what does she do?

As soon as Niylah shows up, she literally tells them that Bellamy and Indra poisoned Octavia and they “wanna replace her”.

REAL RICH FROM THE BITCH WHO JUST THE EPISODE PRIOR WAS WILLING TO KILL COOPER AND CONSIDERED IT THE RIGHT CHOICE AND TOLD BELLAMY TO HIS FACE SHE WAS GOING TO KILL HIS SISTER!!

REAL RICH FROM THE BITCH WHO, IN SEASONS 3 AND 4, WAS WILLING TO FORCE THE FLAME ON ANYBODY, TRIED TO FORCE THE FLAME ON LUNA AND WAS GOING TO TAKE THE FLAME HERSELF!!

Clarke being chained up in the bunker was a literal parallel of her having chained Bellamy up in season 4 to prevent him from opening the bunker; the difference in the end, is that Bellamy never threatened Clarke’s life before AND after she left him for dead. But CLARKE DID. MORE THEN ONCE.

Madi literally spelled it out for her that Bellamy was going to die and her answer was “They made their choice”.

Madi tried to escape to go BACK to Wonkru and Bellamy REPEATEDLY after 5x09 and Clarke used physical force, even shock-collaring and torturing her, to prevent her from rescuing them!

Clarke had a fucking choice. But she chose, immediately after being released by Niylah, to go to Octavia and try to kill her; and when she saw that Octavia didn’t want Madi to ascend either, she brought her right to Bellamy and then walked out on him. Clarke could have gone back. She could have let Madi - who had the Flame and was the Commander now - go and save him. But she - once again - chose to sacrifice innocent lives instead of letting Madi go - instead of letting her out of her control.

Clarke’s “choices” all boil down to “Who am I willing to sacrifice to get what I want?” She has done this to Bellamy, Murphy, Emori, Echo, Monty, Harper, Raven, Kane, Octavia, Cooper, and the list just goes on! 

Clarke always had a “choice” all throughout the series, and she had a fucking choice in 5x09 too, but HER wants and HER needs are what she considered most important and she considered Bellamy expendable and worth killing if it meant getting what she wanted. 

And then she goes and tries to say she “always cared”?!
