An artful life inspired to be expressive with care – The Artist’s Perspective

In 2009, as our country dealt with the aftermath of the worst recession in seventy or so years, my wife Linda and I did something that seemed crazy.  We opened another art gallery.  I say another, because it wasn’t our first gallery, or recession for that matter.  It made complete sense to us to open on what we felt would be an upswing. The, it can’t get any worse than this theory.

So I wore my Chibi Attack on Titan shirt and a guy thought it was both appropriate and completely ok to inform me that it was a basic anime (the implication being that it was not good or enjoyable because of it’s popularity), and question me as to if I like any other “real” anime. 

LOOK, THERE ARE TWO MAJOR ISSUES HERE:

One, once again a man thought it was his place to discredit a woman's interest in something because somehow only men are allowed to be “real nerds”. “Real nerd”? You’re a real jackass. We all are fucking nerding out over something and your passion and interest in something doesn’t make someone else’s invalid.
