Local Radio Personality and Comedian B Daht to Appear on MTV and Comedy Central
GREENSBORO, N.C. â Local radio personality and comedian, B Daht, will appear on two major media network television shows tonightâComedy Centralâs Hood Adjacent with James Davis at 9 p.m. and MTVâs Catfish: The TV Show at 11 p.m.
Following its sixth season return episode, MTV will air an episode of Catfish at 11 p.m., which features B Daht. Hosts Nev and Max will take viewers on a journey through the history of Catfish, beginning with the original documentary, and feature hilarious star-studded parodies, fan art, and discuss the showâs effect on pop culture. B Daht, and other comedians, will provide commentary along the way.
At 9 p.m., Hood Adjacent with James Davis will launch its premiere episode. The pilot show was picked up by Comedy Central last summer and features 30 minutes of a varied collection of comedic sketches, jokes, games and interviews. It aims to bridge the gap between urban and mainstream culture through comedy and Davisâ personal experiences, along with those of his friendsâincluding B Daht.
Davis defines the term âhoodâ as being short for a neighborhood prone to violence and heavy gang activity. He rightfully titled the show Hood Adjacent to imply that he was from a part of South Central L.A. thatâs near, but not in, the most dangerous part of the âhood.â
âIâm beyond grateful to MTV, as well as Comedy Central and James Davis for the awesome opportunity to be featured on tonightâs premiere of Catfish: The TV Show and Hood Adjacent,â said B Daht, WJMH 102 Jamz morning show host and comedian. âViewers of each show will have a chance to see my improv skills and true personality in action.â
Daht, a Winston-Salem State University alumnus, lead host of the â3 Live Crewâ morning show on WJMH 102 Jamz, and co-founder of the comedy troupe, The Freestyle Funny Comedy Show. He has also appeared on former seasons of MTVâs Nick Cannon Presents: Wild âN Out.

102 Jamz morning show host teams up with Greensboro Police Department
Bridging the gap between cops and the community
GREENSBORO, N.C. (August 25, 2015) â Last week, Brian âB Dahtâ McLaughlin, host of the 102 Jamz morning show, â3 Live Crew,â and cast member on MTV2âs Nick Cannon presents: âWild âN Out,â teamed up with the Greensboro Police Department and became a cop for the day.Â
Greensboro Police Chief Wayne Scott invited the radio personality to be the first citizen to undergo an abbreviated police training session and ride along with Officer Scott Davis to patrol the local community.
âBeing exposed to a mere fraction of the situations police officers encounter daily was eye opening,â reflects B Daht. âOfficers have about half of a second to make a decision that could alter the lives of themselves, a perpetrator, and local citizens. In addition to their obligation to protect and serve the community, they have an obligation to their families to get home safely. Itâs a tough job, but I appreciate them for putting their lives on the line daily.â
âThe Greensboro Police Department thoroughly enjoyed hosting B Daht as our âOfficer for a Dayâ,â said Police Chief Wayne Scott. âLike many of our great citizens, he quickly learned about the many challenges police face every day as they serve the community. He was an excellent student and a fast learner. We are honored to have him join our ranks.âÂ
Chief Scott also appeared on the 102 Jamz morning show, â3 Live Crew,â to discuss the ride along in more detail and respond to listeners who called in with a variety of questions from how extensive background checks are for being an officer to protocol for being pulled over.
Both Chief Scott and Brian âB Dahtâ McLaughlin hope to partner on future events that will continue to bridge the gap between the Greensboro Police Department and its community.
