Entry 47:
Iāve been here for about 3 months now. Tseng says my progress is going good but itās a shame I canāt join for another year and a bit, but some of the Turks suggested sneaking me out.
Emma was one of them. Thatās Gun btw. Sheās taught me a few things, like text speak. She was talking about sneaking me out to go see her sister too. I think she said her nameās Elena? Showed me a picture of the two of them and said they look nothing alike.
Bull to the shit.
But apparently I remind her of her sister because weāre about the same age? Bit weird considering Iām neither a girl nor blonde but w/e.
Iām.. actually looking forward to meeting Elena someday. But I wonāt be telling her that to her face. Or Emma. Iād never hear the end of it.

Entry 49:
Rude smiled today
I cracked a joke and he actually smiled. It was small and short but still. Iām a genius. Maybe Tseng was on to soemthing when he paired us up. Rude probably thinks Iām still annoying but I think he sees it too. Gonna try to get him to talk to me
āRudeā is probably a code-name (who would name their child that?) and I can see where it comes from, but he seems really nice. Should I get a g gift or something in case talking backfires?
Ugh, people are tiring
Entry 165:
I shot someone today. I donāt remember much of what happened but Tseng was there and told me to write about it here. Thereās not really much to write.
I feel sick.
Entry 168:
Rude hasnāt spoken to me since we got back earlier. I think he doesnāt like me again. Hell, I wouldnāt like me either if I witnessed myself kill all those people. Might as well have. It didnāt feel like I was even there. I canāt tell Tseng about it. Will Rude tell Veld?
Do they already know?
Odin, I didnāt expect this line of work to feel like this. Gotta get over it quick. If enjoying it makes it feel better, so be it I guess.

Entry 20:
Got partnered with Rude for training today. Man, heās such a pain. Tseng seemed amused by it when he paired us together but Rude looked⦠like he always does. All stoic and stuff. Didnāt stop him from trying to beat my ass though, but I returned it in kind. Managed to make him speak too. Didnāt catch what he said but it happened! Porbs called me a brat or something. But it counts.
I think I can get him to talk more often. He might have some good insight. Plus all the stuff Tsengās been giving me to read says you should befriend the toughest guy though that did say something about prison. And the two Martial Artses(?) are probably tougher, but we seem to⦠nevermind
ā¦..Tsengās stuff also had someone with some cool facial markingsi kinda want those

I hope you know what youāre getting into~
Tseng granted Aerith access to The Department of General Affairs to keep her safe from ShinRaās scientists. She was permitted to stay in Renoās room (with said Turkās permission) as everyone knew not to go in there. There was a pulling sensation from the desk in the room. Like something was dying for her attention. Inside the lone drawer sat a journal with the label āThings I Canāt Say Out Loudā.Ā She shouldnāt read it, of course.
But what was one little peek?
-
Entry 1:
So I was given this jounral journal by Zeng Zheng Tson Tseng to write down things I shouldnāt say out loud? Apparently I could āget in troubleā fro having certain opinions around here. Itās dumb but he promised no-one would read it so⦠whatever. Training starts tomorrow.
Tseng had someone teach me some hadn to hand combat today. Some woman he calledĀ āMartial Artsā? What kind of a name is that? Hell, what kind of a name isĀ āRenoā? And what is aĀ āTurkā?
I donāt think Tseng likes me much
Entry 3:
Should I write about my first memories? All I remember is waking up and Tseng was there and I was scared. I didnāt know who or where I was. Thatās a very scary feeling so donāt lose your memory again, Reno.
Had some more training today. I ache like hell but apparently Iām really fast which is a good thing?? Doesnāt mean Iām not being put through the wringer though.
Entry 4:
Woke up in the infirmary again. Tseng says I got distracted and itās my fault Martial Arts knocked me out. He totally doesnāt like me.
Apparently thereās a guy calledĀ āMartial Artsā too? Everyone here has some whack names.
Entry 5:
Tseng is reading my journal
Today he told me to stop trying to remember my past. Itās not fair! Itās not fair! Itās not fair! Itāās not fair! He lied to me!
[The rest of the entry is comprised of angry scribbles]
Entry 6:
Itās been a while since I wrote in here. Tseng figured out I wasnāt happy and assured me he didnāt look in my journal and that verythin was āwritten all over my faceā. Something in me says I can trust him. Itās all so confusing.
Anyway, I was sorta punished for not trusting him. He made me do laps - which I finished in record time! So he made me do it again and taught me how to use a gun. I was finally introduced to Gun. She seems stern, but nice.
Kinda like Tseng. I see those glances he gives me when he thinks Iām not looking
Entry 7:
Been a while again. Met a bunch of different people recently. I was properly introduced to the Turks as Tsengās mentee, though Iām not old enough yet to properly join. Gotta wait until I turn 18. Tseng also introduced me to the people in charge of the company who owns this building Iāve been living in the past 2 weeks. āShinRaā itās called?
Veldās the Turk leader and seems a cool guy. President Shinra is the guy in charge, and his son Rufus is apparently set to become the Vice President? Pretty sure thatās illegal but whatever. The other people were introduced as directors bar one. I donāt like him. He seems slimy and my stomach churns and my head hurts when I see him.
Please donāt make me see him again, Tseng.
Entry 8:
I think I did a bad.
Tseng finally let me choose what weapon I wanted to specialise in. The rod thing looked really fun and I was told I could temporarily paralyse my enemies with its electricity. Now, youād think I paralysed Tseng but no.
So we did some practices with it and I got it to work - you know, the electricity flowing and stuff. But Tseng looked surprised and⦠I guess the word isĀ āperplexedā? Because apparently⦠uh⦠itās powered by this stuff called Materia, which I havenāt been taught about yet, and the rod doesnāt come with Materia when practising.
We donāt know whatās going on but he told me to keep it to myself for now and he was going to look into things for now.
He wonāt sell me out to Professor Hojo. I know he wonāt
*sneaks up behind him and kisses ze cheek* ((for the touch meme, and for argument say he was sitting down so the smol thing can reach.))
Anon or not, touch my muse, be it gentle, hurtful, or even to mess with them.
Things had felt⦠kind of off recently. Reno wasnāt sure what or why so he made the executive decision to take an unscheduled break to look across Midgar, staring snot-nosed cowards be damned.
Hairs stood on the back f his neck as presences came and went. He trusted none of them. They expected him to take the fall for their follies, yet would sell him out if so much as a water pistol was aimed at them. Pathetic though they might be, the thought brought a smirk to the redheadās face. Selling out a Turk or ShinRa, for that matter, placed a countdown on your head.
Reno was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didnāt even notice a new presence sneaking up on him until it was too late. Immediate instinct to fight was quelled in favour of not causing a scene.
āCan I help you?ā
A small turn of head and Reno caught a glimpse of purple. Ah, so it wasĀ a good idea not to fight.Ā āOh hi, Ren.ā

āeveryoneās fucked and they donāt even know.ā
PLAYLIST SENTENCE STARTERS (P3).
Arms folded across an exposed chest as Reno stared out over Midgar. He and Ashe had stowed away to one of the top floors of ShinRa on their break; theĀ āweāre better than youā air was almost suffocating but still bearable.
āEveryoneās fucked and they donāt even know.ā
A wry smile. She was right of course. The Shinra family business had been killing the planet for years, draining it dry. It was only natural karma would come for them eventually. Such a shame that the big wig people couldnāt see it. Yes, definitely a shame. It was nothing to look forward to. Reno could no longer hold back his snort of amusement.
āUh⦠Rude? You okay, buddy?ā His partnerās question caught him off guard. Yeah, Rude mightĀ have been hit kind of hardĀ by Reno during training but the redhead didnāt think heād been hit thatĀ hard. Hoo boy, he was going to be in so much trouble.
Taking his partnerās hand, he pulled the older man up to his feet.Ā āCome on, partner. No time for jokes.ā Only, Rude was a damn good actor when he joked - being all imposing and stuff no matter what he did - and Reno was freaking out on the inside. Heād just have to take Rude to the infirmary and deal with the consequences later.
A sheepish grin was present at the words as Reno was well aware that yet another complaint had been sent in about his behaviour. Heād just joined and was already the mockery of the Turks; it was only a matter of time someone before submitted a complaint about his āgaudyā red hair or the paint on his face. And since Tseng was his supervisor or mentor or whatever he called himself, every report went straight to him.
Every. Single. One.
In all honesty, Reno was glad it was just the two of them in the room. Anyone else and his jitters would have manifested as anger towards the nearest person to him. But never Tseng. Tseng was safety. And somehow never seemed to grow sick of Reno or his antics. Which begged the question; had Tseng been like him once before?
No, of course not. This was Tseng.Ā Ā Ā Ā āEven soā¦
A sigh snapped Reno back to attention, back and posture straightening - like aĀ āgood dogā one of the employees had called him. Tseng seemed⦠more flustered than disappointed. Which was good, it just meant he was probably going to be brought to training for a few hours.
