Mac didn’t have ‘friends,’ not the way a normal person would think of them anyway. But he did have people he could be around without wanting to poison them or stab them with his stinger within five minutes and Daken just so happened to be one of those individuals. To say they had a chaotic past was an understatement but when he heard the other was about in the city, specifically close to the docks, he’d decided to go see for himself. 

Using the tech in his suit he worked to track him down, climbing down a wall on all fours, the tail of his suit swishing slightly behind him, he smirked down at Daken and, for the millionth time that day, ignored the hungry that was uttered in his head. 

The library girls laid low the month after the attacks. They went out only once, for a very subdued ‘group hang’ at Betty’s walkup. No viewing of ‘Cadet Kelly’ had ever been so somber. But things were on the upturn as spring turned to summer. Lauren was the first to suggest it. Alicia was the first to hop on board. Happy hour was here again.

M’gann sat at the bar, watching her friends play pool with group of equally inebriated barflies. Bars were not her cup of tea. She couldn’t drink alcohol without unpredictable consequences and this bar, like so many others, was crowded and noisy on Friday nights. She was fiddling idly with a straw wrapper when the man next to her spun her bar stool around. “Hey. Remember the time we made out in the bathroom fifteen minutes from now?”

For a few long moments, M’gann was too stunned to speak. She squinted at him and opened her mouth to answer, but she had nothing. He grinned, flicked the collar of his grey sweatshirt, and added, “Fourteen minutes.”
