Week 1 — The Standards Are Changing. So Are We
I’ve just started working through the new B Corp standards all 1200+ pages of them and while I’ve been part of shaping pieces of this shift, sitting down to go through it as a business feels very different.
Beauty Kitchen has been a B Corp since 2017 (reaching the highest scoring product based bcorp in the world). We’ve built our foundations around using business as a force for good. But this new framework? It’s asking more from all of us and I think that’s a good thing.
These aren’t just new standards. This is a new kind of leadership.
The part that hits home for me most? The emphasis on interdependence not just as a B Corp value, but as a requirement. You can’t just do good in your own corner anymore. You have to bring others with you. You have to open the door to your supply chain, your customers, even your competitors and build systems that hold up under real pressure.
That’s what we’re doing with Reposit moving beyond single-use thinking and building reuse systems that only work if everyone plays a role. It’s messy. It’s hard. And it’s exactly where the future is going.
I’m starting this blog because I want to document the process in real time the questions, the tension points, the breakthroughs. Not just the shiny finished version.
If you’re a founder, a sustainability lead, a purpose-driven skeptic wherever you are in this you’re welcome here.
We’re not doing this perfectly.
But we are doing it. Together for Tomorrow's World - YOU-ME-US
