The Act of Kiss - Holly Schindler I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review couple of weeks back from @hollyschindler and immediately added it to my July TBR. Took me awhile to get to it but when I finally did, I was amazed by it. Before I go on blabbing, Let me tell you about this book. ABOUT THE BOOK It’s a story of a man and a woman. a story of love, friendship and life in a small Missouri town. The story itself was told from different POVs. Michael was a hopeless romantic while Sharon on the other hand was a bit of a realist. While Michael told his side of the story from a fairytale POV, Sharon had her side spelled out in black and white. I am not much of a fairytale kind of girl but this story makes you believe in fairytale and the magic of love old and new. It is a captivating tale where the past collides with the present in satisfying ways and I really enjoyed reading it. Michael and Sharon Minyard have been together for over 50 years. In their " The beginning of their love story, Sharon, a photographer, took a picture of she and Michael that once stopped traffic in their town of Fairyland. Yes, but all cliche aside, The story takes place in Fairyland, a medium-sized Missouri town with a cozy small town feel. And then comes the story of the 3rd main character and narrator Heather. A young photographer, a villain in the form of a best friend, and a dusty old Nikon camera, and the magic that happens after. The characters are realistic, relatable, and full of personality and I enjoyed getting to know them. The story itself was a slow buildup but when you get the hang of it, you come to appreciate why the descriptive side was important and will most likely finish it in one seating. This is one book I highly recommend and will definitely be looking forward to reading more books from this Author. .
