Descended from the fierce Tigerclan, Shadowclan cats are stocky with shorter, broad muzzles and semi-rounded ears. They are most commonly longhaired. Their defining feature is their tiger-like stripes. These are unique as they will remain dark in color, regardless of the color beneath them. These stripes will even show over white markings.

Tiger markings are an offshoot of tabby. It is a dominant gene and is written as Ti/ti. All pure blooded cats have two copies.

The darkened tiger markings can come in any tabby pattern.
