Hi,

Got the mail from Ycombinator today that unfortunately we have been rejected. Well this thing is nothing new for me as i may have approximately 300 mails in last three years saying “unfortunately you have been rejected”. Now it has become a habit or acquainted hearing that.

But in this case it was always in the cards because of its very nature, we have a lot of mistakes or you can say there are few things which we know we will fall short. Some of them are,

1)We applied on the very last day, which they say as not good to make the cut

Our application was not up to the mark & this is because of few things,

  2) At this moment we don’t want to give them the exact picture of what we want to do or where we are heading.

  3) Our founder profile was really weak, specially one of the co-founder doesn’t have anything, no quality, no personality, no network, no social presence, no website nothing. Only reason why he is the co-founder is because of his relation with the founder.

4) We had mention that we have hired professional to help us which they might have taken against us.

5) We are from India & we have already incorporated here & we don’t want to move the company to there.

6)The website was live just few days before application, so we don’t have any trend, it was just a raw product. No review, No trend & specially not a huge user base.

7) Few things in the applications could have been improved for sure like Video Profile, Product demo, the website experience itself & the overall script

There are few more points though other than this. Anyway it could help others & certainly us to improve our application for the next time.

But no matter what, We can & we certainly can.

Well a spare of thought - If they could have selected us now for the interview then also we would have not able to travel #bayarea because we simply don’t have money for travelling San Francisco.
