You’re lost in your work. You probably wouldn’t have noticed him creeping up on you even without the music blasting in your ears.

A loud gasp escapes you as strong arms wrap around your middle. Before you can remove the earbuds or turn to look, you can smell his cologne. His stubble grazes your neck before his lips do and you can feel his chest rumble against your back as he laughs.

“Alex!” You shout laughing as the temporary fear fades away. You tug the earbuds out and can now hear his hearty laugh. He spins you in his arms. His face is lit up with that smile you love so dearly.

Alex’s arms stay snaked around you as he continues to chuckle. He presses a soft kiss to your cheek, the tip of your nose and finally your lips.

“Did you miss me?” He asks, lips grazing yours.

“You were only gone a few hours.” You giggle but in reality you had missed him.

Alex pouts. His dark hair falls into his eyes and you gently sweep it away.

“Ok fine.” You concede rolling your eyes. “I did miss you.”

His face lights up again and your heart melts in your chest.
