“The mythical Bonnacon would release red-hot dung that would set fire to its pursuers. Bonnacons were part bull, part horse. They date back at least as far as the Ancient Romans. Bonnacons’ horns were of little use in defence so they had to improvise with burning poo. Apparently the excrement could leave a trail several hundred metres long.”

Going through BBC's history via their timeline I found this first particularly interesting. I think it's cool how because they couldn't afford average microphones they found a way to still obtain one; a very unique and original one at that. It's also very interesting that they still use that type of microphone to this day to keep with history and the foregrounds for which their company started.
