Old habits die hard. I need to practice my left hand. 🤦♂️ 99% of my left side layups end up being right handed. It leads to these awkward shots... Thankfully this one had enough balance and went in. The mechanics: Jumping off the right leg and extending with the right arm -these shots are much harder for your body to balance- the opposing arm and leg drive cause tension in your core due to the twisting motion- In a proper layup, your jumping leg should be the opposite of your shooting arm--the leg drive allows your body mechanics to stay aligned, and allows you to extend fully (Think one handed dunk). The good part? I've been better at that right handed, off leg twisting layup. It's not always a bucket, but my control on the shot has gotten better. But still- a left hand layup would be more fluid and protected. I still remember going up with my right, thinking- "crap, I hope this gets over the rim 🤦♂️" And now that you all know I only shoot right handed layups- it's time to change things up. I already know I'm about to get blocked 😝@chanceisearly #basketballcoaching #basketballcoach #bballstrategy #getbucketseveryday #basketballaddiction #bballaddiction #operationbasketball #th3op3rator (at San Diego, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4xxGsjBS6y/?igshid=1ae6s2oom5t3v
