21. What’s your favorite kylux-specific trope?

Thanks for the ask! Really hard to pick favorites so have a bulleted list :P

Kylo's mind-reading keeping Hux off-balance

Hux as an unreliable narrator who is so emotionally repressed that he willfully ignores/doesn't even consider the possibility of romantic attraction (until he's forced to face it :D)

When for either one the wait he's HOT realization is followed immediately by oh HECK NO and then he fights it with every fiber of his being

Petty bickering and UST! Honestly I will read and immensely enjoy a fic that is JUST that. Bickering kylux is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

Kylo underestimating Hux and being proven wrong.

Hux being the dominant one in the relationship despite Kylo being so much stronger (but not taken to extremes. Kylo is not a doormat)

IMing: Hux is punctual with good grammer and Kylo is... not :)

except it's not like he's a normal person, covered in trauma that makes him act messed up it's that he just functions weirdly at a basic level

Which raises the question... what goes through her head when she can't reach something? Say, she sees a clue for a puzzle, or a valuable piece of loot and can't reach it because it's on a high shelf.

He'll never be annoyed about it. He'll grab the thing or pull the lever or whatever with a kind of chivalry, like a gentleman holding a door for a lady. Some might find it annoying, but Erine kinda likes it, I think, knowing that someone not only isn't inconvenienced by helping her, but is actually, genuinely happy to do it.

Good: Karlach, Shadowheart

Shadowheart is chill and practical 👌🏻 Karlach is tall and cheerful (pro) and also tends to set paper goods on fire (con)

Just grab a crate and do it yourself: Lae'zel, Astarion

Asking for help is probably an admission of cowardice to the Gith. Plus, Lae'zel scares her. No thanks.

like kylo ren with his savage New Republic culture has infected the FO with life day and Hux is dismayed. So he goes to Snoke and that goes about as well as expected so he resignedly decides that the only way to end this is to do it himself. So he recruits Phasma and they go steal all the decorations and the entire time he is just absolutely hating his existence (TROS!hux style) but blaming it all on Ren and he has to lie to avoid getting caught but it all spirals out of control and it's a huge mess and the Resistance is probably involved somehow at some point

Does his heart grow three sizes at the end? up to you ig I have no clue

Like I played through the whole Sith Warrior story from Ga'eon's point of view, and because he just takes all the awful things that happen for granted I somewhat did too, I guess? Just because he was conditioned to just move on and ignore that he feels awful about things and ignore when things don't feel quite right... and also, it's a video game, and the point of the game is to fight stuff so as a player I just take it for granted that we fight things and win...

But dang the process that makes people into Sith is seriously, seriously messed up. It's a process that somehow someone engineered to take normal people and produce unnatural abominations. You can't become a Sith and use the Dark Side without to some degree being insane!

(idk if anyone has read this book but this reminds me of the book A Face Like Glass, where the cave system is so incomprehensible that anyone who gets themselves to understand it has to go insane themselves... the Dark Side is like that. You have to twist your brain into an unrecognizable shape to even understand it, and then you're never really the same anymore)

I'm not talking about Sith that are just evil Force Users in the movies. I'm talking a galactic organization of many, many people who all somehow decide this is a good idea, and somehow have control over an entire society. It's like a society run by a caste of mad gods... and yet it's also a superpower in the galaxy with normal people living under it, and that's the tragedy of it is that all these people are living under a government filled with people for whom being insanely powerful Chaotic Evil and self-sabotaging is just an inherent part of their being.

Well look at that it's Ga'eon's mom. For some reason instead of letting her be a normal happy person she ended up being a street urchin who was experimented on by a mob boss to be his cybernetically enhanced super soldier enforcer. So yeah she's just a little bit scarred for life and also she's probably the Bounty Hunter. Ask me about her I have thoughts :D
