“P-Papyrus...” Sans whimpered. Vines encircled his bones and left eye socket, while Flowey’s voice giggled, echoing from within his skull. “It hu-hurts.”
“S-Sans!” Papyrus cried. “F-Flowey, let him go! If you want to use someone, use me! Don’t bring a child into this!”
“Oh, but this is much more fun!” Flowey popped out from Sans’s eye socket, smile cold. “Your little brother squirms so much. Crying for you. Begging for you to help him.”
Sans sobbed quietly, shaking violently.
“Come on, Sans. Why don’t you scream for him?” Flowey giggled. Bones creaked as Sans shrieked in pain.
“Stop!” Papyrus begged. “Stop doing this to him, please!”
Flowey sighed, “Oh, Papyrus. You need to know that begging doesn’t do anything in this world.”
“Pa-Papyrus,” Sans sobbed, voice hitched in pain. “I’m scared...”
“I-I know, baby bones,” Papyrus said. “Just hold on, okay? I’m going to save you.”
Flowey laughed as Sans took a forced, shaky step forward, “Like you can save anyone! In this world...”
Bones floated up into the air, quivering and shifting continuously in size; unstable powers, “IT’S KILL OR BE KILLED.”
“Sans,” Papyrus called, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“...are you stupid?” Flowey questioned. “This useless bag of bones can’t even fight me anymore: what makes you think that you can do any better to help?”
“Bro...” Sans whispered. “I...I don’t want to d-do this.”
“Fight him, Brother!” Papyrus said, holding out his arms: he didn’t want to hurt his little brother. Not ever. “I believe in you, Sans. I believe in you...”
Sans, with much effort, nodded, letting out a strangled cry.

“What?!” Flowey roared. “What are you doing?!”

Flowey growled. Bones were fired at Papyrus, who dodged most of them. Some hit him, but it would be worth it: if Sans could break free from Flowey’s control, than this would be all worth it.
“STOP!”

A blue light surrounded Flowey. The yellow flower was ripped out of Sans’s eye socket, causing him to flinch, but not to scream.
Flowey cursed, the vines around Sans’s bones retreating. After a minute, planted himself into the ground again, “YOU’LL REGRET THAT,” he said, voice like spikes. “I PROMISE YOU THAT.”
*Flowey ran away
Sans let out a shaky breath before collapsing.
“Sans!” Papyrus cried, sprinting over to his fallen brother, kneeling down, and pulling the small skeleton into his lap. “Baby bones? Answer me.”
“...hey,” Sans murmured softly, voice hoarse. “Did I...do it, Pap?”
The older skeleton gasped happily, “Oh, Sans...Sans!” he then wrapped his arms around Sans in a hug. Tears spilled out of his eye sockets. “I’m so happy that you’re back, Sans.”
Sans sighed, exhausted but content, “Yeah...me too, bro.”
