Footsteps have you straightening. You don’t know if you should get in a fighting stance or prepare to run or what, so you sort of freeze with your knees slightly bent. The door opens. Your brain blanks.
It’s the woman. Wanda. The one who was always a bit too close, a bit too touchy. You hadn’t minded at the time, at all. Now your gut twists. Had she kidnapped you?
Wanda pauses in the doorway for a moment, taking you in, before stepping in and shutting the door behind her. It’s only when she steps towards you that you realise she’s holding something. A spray bottle, filled with a clear liquid you’re hoping is water. Her smile is way too kind considering the circumstances.
“How’s my kitten settling in?”
Your face scrunches in confusion. “What— “
A sudden spray of cold and wet hitting you has you jerking back. You blink rapidly, wiping at your face. Wanda now holds the bottle slightly raised. The shock leaves you gaping, then annoyance surges. Did she just spray with you?
“Wh— “ Wanda sprays you again and you cover your face with your arms. “What the hell!” She sprays again. “Stop!” And again. Your arms are soaked. The water is weirdly cold. It still drips from your eyelashes. You don’t really know what to do. If you try to run or fight and she gets you in the face you’re kind of screwed. Once again, frustratingly, you just sort of freeze in place.
A few moments of nothing and you part your forearms slightly. Wanda has a very slight frown. Like she’s looking at something she disproves off rather than something that upsets her. You blink up at her. You hadn’t realised you’d crouched down. You warily lower your wet arms. The water is cold enough you don’t wipe them on your clothes. Let the water pool on her wooden floor.
She smiles that extremely pretty smile of hers. You have no idea what the actual fuck that was about. You open your mouth to ask, or maybe yell a little, but she raises the spray bottle. You hesitate, looking between her and the bottle, before slowly closing your mouth again. She lowers it.
Your kidnapper doesn’t want you to talk, fine whatever that sounds like it could be a normal kidnapper thing but spraying you with water? Why. Just why.
