Do you guys know the California based, retro-inspired clothing brand Yellow Rat? If you don’t, you should. It’s f***king awesome. Even more awesome is its founder and designer Kio Inagaki. He’s a surf legend in Malibu and a universally well-loved dirty old man. You can see him in AUTHENTIC WAVE by Tatsuo Takei here.

Kio ordered a SS16 Five Pocket Island Shirt from us and was kind enough to agree to be in our new series, “Batten Friends!” 

Batten Friends! are basically people we know and love . . . or people we want to know who love Battenwear.
