After revisiting a super early childhood film, Filmation’s Happily Ever After, and realising one of the characters really effected my whole aesthetic moving forward in life, I got hit with an idea to make it a bit more D&D, and maybe rework/flesh out the story as well!
These are some rough concept pages, lots of my stream-of-consciousness nonsense and doodles. I haven’t yet figured out how to put it all down in a way that’s coherent, so breaking it up into bite-sized pieces like this is helping.
(( I think I’m going to nix the kobold form idea, as much as I think it’s cute, ‘cause him being a shadow being is pretty dope and I have some ideas for how her might unlock shadowy/incorporeal powers later on. But, y’know, that’s what stream-of-consciousness idea pages are for! :3 ))
I didn’t want to change everything, just give it a little more of a serious and fantasy tone, and play with how I might tackle that- and what I /would/ change about the designs and story, if I had the chance! Movies like this deeply influenced who I am today and my love for fantasy, D&D, etc., so saying hello to this one again and growing it up with me has been so much fun.

Also I will be working on more polished portraits like the one for Maliss, for Snow and the Prince! It’s just taking a while.
(( I’m trying to figure out the best way to add image descriptions! I am taking advice on that so if anyone has any, I’d be super appreciative! I want to start adding them on here but am unsure of how to tackle them for long posts with lots of writing in the margins like this. ))
