Today's long haired anime guy of the day, per request, is:
Batou Buttetsu
I'm not sure if it's that intentionally deep and connected -given the cleverness of the gits sac team it might actually be- but you remember when Major and Batou both got "decapitated" in the same episode in two different scenes
"I look dead to you, don't I?"
Interesting parallel between the two. Both entwined with protecting their interest in eachothers lives and nearly getting blown away as a result. Intentional deception of the enemy, vs an unforseen and world changing outcome. And they return alive in the end.
More specifically, Batous near death triggered the first tachikomatic sacrifice. Moving the mindset on the theory that machines can aquire ghosts.
Motokos near death gave her the experience of existing in the Net without a corporeal form, yet still being able to retain individuality. Moving the mindset on the theory of beings being able to Live on the net and not lose their ghost, their individual being.
Good stuff
