For me since 1994 to be recognized as a credible and accredited police/law enforcement and security trainer I have had to do courses that show I am a certified trainer.I trained under multiple 30 year police veterans. When it came to firearms training ,dynamic entry, unit formation , riot control and modern weapon tactics the value gained was immeasurable. But- On the other side the physical #closequartertactics #cqc #ppct #pressurepointcontroltactics #batontraining #asptraining #knifedefense #striking and #selfdefence was so lacking and at times so inaccurate to actual physical fights that it was like swallowing a bad piece of meat . Because of civilian oversight and small budget allotment, time restraints this has always been acceptable. As a retired high level police officer told me it was actually cheaper to deal with misuse of force claims , liability and negligence cases than it would be to train the police in actual effective and regular training . The advantage I believe I’ve had is that the years in security and protective services always required me to rely on my personal prevention and prediction skills without elaborate support, weapons or technology. Most teams I was assigned to were untrained, unskilled and untested which meant personal physical skills were needed at a premium. Over the 25 years of my service things did get better and as I rose in rank from foot soldier watching the bathroom to running 150 street soldiers for 5000 capacity events I had an opportunity to observe, test , refine and train those with me and myself. There are things that work 99.99999 % of the time and it’s not what’s taught in the text books. It’s what you see in the following systems that have #bodycontrol #clinch #wrestling #grappling #submissions #muaythai . Training once a year for 8 hours or once every 3 years for 40 hours is still not the same value as full resistance based training 2 to 3 times a week for the rest of your life or for the next year. Show me an effective #policeofficer #lawenforcementofficer #militaryman #securityguard that doesn’t need his duty belt or weapon to gain control of someone and I’ll show you a person that trains #jiujitsu #muaythai https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz5m597nwtG/?igshid=1tacwjsnbrl83
