The absolute worst Batman Comic I ever read was something called "Batman Absolution"
How do you take a character who at the time was known for being compassionate towards his villains, openly believing they can be rehabilitated...and then turn him into a jackass who not only rolls his eyes at this new criminal's tragic backstory, but laughs when she reveals she's actively trying to get rehabilitated and atone for what she's done before trying to bring her back to Gotham?
"Oh, she blew up Wayne Industries and killed a bunch of people" MOST BATMAN VILLAINS DO THAT ON A REGULAR BASIS without Batman thinking they're beyond redemption! Also, she was manipulated. She got suckered into a terrorist organization before eventually turning on them.
Like, HOW DO YOU SCREW UP BATMAN'S ENTIRE CHARACTERIZATION THAT BADLY!?
I swear, some Batman writers just want to turn Batman into the biggest douche of all time because they think it makes him some sort of bad boy.
