@urumisu ( @bathaillion ) said: "Might I--" He pipes up, and though his hands are confident as they slip onto Shin's shoulders from behind, Kibito almost immediately loses his voice as soon as he finds it. A breath in, he can do this--! "--Suggest... Dinner? We could... distract the Elder with business elsewhere, have the quarters to ourselves," And though he doesn't make eye contact, he looks away anyhow, bashful. "I could prepare something just for you; just for the novelty of it...?"
Were it anyone else but Kibito that dared to approach him from behind, Shin--in a paranoia-fueled act of self-preservation--would likely have gone on the offensive, and at such a close range, such wouldn't have ended well for either of them.
But because Kibito is who he is, Shin doesn't even jump at the touch; Instead, he finds himself casually trying to look up, a slight smile on his face as he returns his gaze to the notebook in his hand, continuing to write.
Kibito is hardly the heartless, forever-stoic man most manage to get the impression of from him, and Shin always counts himself as incredibly fortunate that his lover feels comfortable enough around him to show that softer, more affectionate side a little more often.
Even so, Kibito's little suggestion visibly catches Shin off-guard, and he turns around to face the other properly so he may respond properly. (There's a sensation in his chest, warm and everything lovely, as he regards his lover with adoration.)
"That sounds wonderful, Kibito.” he responds, his tone bright. "And I think it would do us both some good--especially without my ancestor roaming about."
His head canting just a sliver to the left, he silently asks himself how in all of Creation did he get so lucky to have someone like Kibito in his life, and especially by his side.
He doesn’t miss that bashfulness though, and his gaze narrows as he rises into the air to be eye-level with the other man, and it’s now his turn to place hands upon shoulders -- which he does, pressing a gentle little kiss to Kibito’s lips. (Shin hopes that despite the lack of words, Kibito knows that he’s proud of him for being able to work up the nerve to say any of this at all.)
“Oh, I love it when you cook; You’re so very talented, you know.”
Another kiss, this one with just a bit more force behind it.
“I think it’s a brilliant idea. I’m,” A quiet chuckle. “--ready whenever you are, my love.”
