#batch 07

Yesterday, our very much awaited moment since the beginning of our highschool lives happened: our Graduation Day. Yesterday, ended our highschool lives. Where we will be leaving all our memories with the school behind, our teachers, and our Alma Mater. Yesterday, marked us, Batch 2007, an OLGMSC alumni. Yeah, OLGMSC. Our Lord's Grace Montessori School and Colleges -- if you have heard of it in the news, where a pillbox exploded there? (ahemm. :p) . Well, usually, only the graduating students will be leaving their Alma Mater behind. But in our case, it's way different. The other year levels, from grades 1 to 5 and 1st year to 3rd year highschool, will also be leaving our Alma Mater behind. And so as the teachers, the maintenance, the registrar people, the accounting office people, the guidance counselor, the prefect of discipline, the principal, and everyone else. Yes, that would certainly mean an end to OLGMSC. As most graduations, it means goodbye to the people you've been with for the past years you've stayed in the school, so it's sad. It's just that, our graduation was a VERY VERY sad one. So, if you figured it out right, our school will stop its operation. Yeah, our school's closing down. And we're the last batch -- Batch '07.

Our graduation was full of laughters and tears. Until the last time we step foot in our school together as batchmates, we still managed to do fun things. Madami pa ring pasaway at kalokohan. But then, the moment we started singing our graduation song, which was from one of 4-Faith's music group(yeah, go faith!), titled "Our Goodbyes, we can't help but cry. Ironically, one line from the song says.. "Holding back the tears that will fall from my eyes..", but yeah, we couldn't hold it back. :p

At the start of the graduation programme, I'm pretty sure most of us are feeling really sad. But we didn't let it show at first. My seatmates and frontmates saw me wiping my face with my hanky which I used to wipe some oil off my face(haha), they said, "O cha! Mamaya ka na umiyak!" Hahaha. I was near in tears, but I wasn't crying. Or should I say, I can still hold it back. I saw one of my teachers crying kasi kaya yun. Ampf. :p

Then, giving of diplomas na. Of course, we were all happy. 'Cause all of us marched! We did it! Kinaya namin! :) We overcame all the odds, the trials, and the challenges that a senior highschool can have. And we're all proud of each other. Even DT, marched. So he was uber happy. And we were happy for him. But I think he still has summer classes. But everyone in our batch, like I said, even those with summer classes, marched. :D May advantage din pala ang pagsasara ng school. :p

Then, we sang our grad song, where, like I said, most of us couldn't hold back the tears. Then Ate AMAM, our valedictorian, gave her valedictory speech. I transferred to another seat near AJ, and she said as Ate AmAm started her speech, "Sabi nya maiksi lang daw speech nya. Nakakaiyak naman tong speech ni AM. Parang nanggagago lang e. Gago, naiiyak ako. Sayang yung eyeliner o!" Hahaha. And like what ateAM said on her speech, "Mitch Albom said, 'All endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at that time'." It may be an end to our highschool life, one of the best years of our lives, but it is also the start of another chapter, college life.

Honors and loyalty awards na. Many of the loyalty awardees came from our section, Faith! Haha. Grabe, they were at OLGM since their pre-school years! They almost grew up there and it's already like their second home. They must be sad seeing the OLGM flag being rolled up. :( I, too, am sad. Though I've just been there since 1st year highschool, it's been an incredible heck of a ride. I grew up there. I learned a lot while I was there. Well, first of, I first learned how to swim back in 1st year HS! Haha. And, way back in first year, I kind of lacked in confidence and belief in myself. The school taught me how to believe in myself. The way the teachers encourage their students with a lot of things. Madalas man kami pagalitan, lalo na nung 2nd year, I guess it was for our own good. Ha! :)) Basta, magaling yung mga teachers.. di nga lang naalagaan ng school mabuti. They deserve better, really. :) Every year, may reason na nakakapag-boost ng confidence ko. People knew I have the potential. I have talent. I didn't believe that then. Just because way before, sobrang naddiscourage ako sa di pag-appreciate ng mga gawa ko. So I thought, I'm not good at something. Things I liked passed, I didn't want to do it anymore. But I guess, I was wrong with what I was thinking. 'Cause way before 4th year, all the college exam and all, I've already decided what I wanted to do with my life. Way before some of my classmates knew what they want to do. Some of them didn't know what they want nor thought about what they should take in college until the college applications came in. Well all I can say is that, I learned a lot from people around me and I'm so lucky to have been friends with my friends. Very lucky. :) When 4years ago, I've been regretting to go that school 'cause it's all new to me and I didn't think I could handle being a new student and all. But hey, I did. :) And it feels great. :)

We were all in this together. We helped each other through all the good times and the bad. We've been there for each other through all the trying times. Lalo na yung mga pressures, mga chismax, mga chuvanes na nangyayari. Especially, FOUR FAITH people! They've all been so supportive. Just like what our class bulletin board said, "UNITED ANG FAITH!". And we will be forever. :) No matter what happens, I know we will still be 4-Faith, batch 07. No matter how many things will change, no matter how much we will be away from each other, no matter how much we don't go to the same schools anymore, no matter how much we will never be in one same classrooms anymore, we'll still be united and one.

Anyway, most of us will still be seeing each other. Where? At school! Hahaha. Hello Taft people! :p And we'll surely be keeping in touch. Who could not miss people like them? Hahanap-hanapin parin namin yung company ng isa't isa e, anyway. :p

Most of the people I know, including my mom, her highschool barkada is still in touch. Others may have gone to the States and have been busy with their careers and own family, but they always make sure to see each other once in a while. Recently, they just had their mini-reunion. And one of my mom's friend even brought with her their yearbook! They were all laughing, as my mom told me the story. And they'll also meet their highschool teacher then. How nice, noh? very nice. :) Sobrang natuwa ako sa knwento ni momie nun. I also met her friends then. I remember my mom told me to come with her to Galleria 'cause she will be meeting her highschool friends there. They even formed business together -- a travel agency. Haha. So cool. And my brothers, also get to get in touch with their HS friends too. Most of which transferred to Manila or they accidentally see each other when they go to Davao. :)
