In a networked world, a lot of the new technologies are internet based, and requires the support of a social network setting that allows people to either share ideas or information. Needless to say, many of these new tech along with its tech startups are website based. However, with the spread and the acquiantance to these new new websites, it seems that the more mature the website becomes, the less value it may convey to its subscribers. Take for example craigslist. A website that basically transformed the world of classified ads. The initial stage of craigslist were a lot more clean and has very useful information that allows the people search for it to get what they need. However, with the development and wide spread of craigslist, it seems like there are a lot more scams that ultimately either harm or creates an unpleasant user experience. Another example is Youtube, which acts in the exact opposite manner, but nevertheless reduces the user experience. In the initial stage of Youtube, the user upload content could range anywhere from homevideo to recorded TV shows. With the understanding and therefore the tightening of copyrights, most of these videos that fall in the latter categories were subsequently removed from the site, thus removing a significant portion of the user experience. Both of the entities here - scammers and the government - do not initially penetrate the market of internet entertainment. Much like the regular demography of an item in a market, a possible Bass Model might be applicable to analyze the transformation of such negative effect on such new tech startups.
