Band of the Week 14: Blame Candy
Self-described as “Guitar-wielding lords of song and dance”, Blame Candy is  a New York-based band that is sure to be indie’s next big thing. They are a truly unique band that fuses classic glam rock with a modern indie spin. Drawing from artists like The Cure and David Bowie, Blame Candy have achieved some attention for their series of youtube covers that take classic rock’n’roll hits and flip them into an opposite key, such as Seven Nation Army in Major, which sounds more the like a Strokes jam, or their Black Dog in Major, which sounds like a Thin Lizzy track. Their original music is calm, yet explosive, and the perfect blend of old and new. Additionally, their youtube channel is full of comedic, surreal videos directed by none other than famous youtube director Titanic Sinclair himself (the mastermind behind the Poppy Project). An amazing band to watch out for. 8/10.
