C: What character do you identify with most?

Probably Mary Margaret. Is that weird? I’m an optimist, although it doesn’t always seem that way, and frequently give mini-speeches to friends about how they have to keep hoping. I’m definitely not Friend-Mom by any stretch of the imagination, but season one Mary Margaret definitely isn’t that much of a Friend-Mom either, at least not in comparison to how she usually appears in fic.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

I wouldn’t say guilty pleasure because I don’t feel bad about stuff I enjoy! I love reading smut a lot, and while I get a little EH about it if it’s smut smut smut all the time in a fic that’s supposed to have plot, it’s otherwise hard to over-smut something for me.

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

Robin McKinley (who writes a lot of fairytale stuff, she’s amazing) is one of my favorite authors, and while I don’t often try to emulate her exact style, I just love the way she writes. I wish I could write like she does.

So I started sorting through all the awesome fic I have to go back and read, and I realized I’ve liked quite a few of these fic-art manip hybrids lately. I’ve always enjoyed them, and it seems the Captain Swan Secret Santa came and gave these to all of us to enjoy! So here are a few for you to check out if you haven’t already yet. Some are more art, some are more story, all are shared by some very talented people in our fandom.

Baby it’s cold outside, warm up at the chocolate bar -- @bashful-killian​ This was my secret santa gift and it was amazing! Killian owns a hot chocolate bar and Emma becomes his best patron. I mean, seriously, it’s sweet in so many ways and @bashful-killian​ did an amazing job. Thanks for the gift, love!

i looked at you like the stars that shine – @captainswanouat​ Emma is the princess of Misthaven and befriends Killian Jones when they’re young. As they grow older, they start developing feelings for one another but neither wants to tell the other, because they don’t want to ruin their friendship. After a fight one night though, they realize the truth is better than hiding. Lieutenant Duckling AU. (Mentioned in my fic recommendation post, but she did a gif set for the story too and it’s so cool.)

Once Upon a Mad Hook -- @emmandhook​ Killian Jones wants to take his revenge on Rumplestilskin and he forces Jefferson to help him. The thing is, Rumple is in an other land, a world unknown to Killian and the duo enconter quite a series of problems. But between guns, bad sushis, Killian’s crappy jokes, an unfortunate encounter between Killian and a car, an unexpected connection is born between the two.

CS Pirates AU -- @museelo​ (Emma is a pirate captain and Hook is one of her deckhands. Really. Such a cool idea.)

CS AU -- @herokillians Killian moves from the buzzing city of Boston, to the sleepy town of Storybrooke to become it’s new deputy. Running away from his demons, he meets Emma, the towns resident Sheriff, who only really smiles when she takes a sip out of her daily cup of hot cocoa.

CS AU -- @ladyswanjones​ When Killian meets his father later in his life, Emma is there to support him.

CS AU -- @ladyswanjones​ In a world where Emma and Killian both gone dark, the argument between the Dark Ones doesn’t end with Killian sleeping on a couch, he’s sleeping in the street by the water. When Emma finds him there the next morning, can they find a compromise?

CS AU -- @oubliette14​ “Bloody hell, Swan, is that a…?” She follows his gaze up the snowy path, and if it weren’t for her grip on the icy metal of his hook, she’s fairly certain she’d have tripped over her own feet. “A reindeer? I can’t believe I’m saying this, but yeah, that’s a reindeer."
