Having watched the new Lupin III movie made me think about an Italian short movie dated back in 2008 from director Gabriele Mainetti.
It’s about a bank robber and his gang during their last heist in Rome, and his dreams about his childhood hero Lupin the Third.
The short movie is funny but intense, a dramedy well directed and acted (the crew is top class Italian actors and director). Mainetti clearly loves classic anime and manga, he is class ‘76 and it shows in this movie and in great part of his production.
Valerio Mastandrea: Antonio/Lupin
Marco Giallini: Franco/Jigen
Daniele Liotti: Tony/Goemon
Flavio Insinna: Ispettore/Zenigata
Luisa Ranieri: Prisca/Fujiko
