BartNat. I finally got round to drawing a request I received three years ago. The request was: Bart, summoned by another master, but still unable to stop worrying about Nat more than anyone else. Hmm... I have a feeling I've drawn something rather like this before...
That's how the story ended. I've said everything.
I’m going INSANE

Even as a non shipper I gotta appreciate the endless comedic potential of these two's relationship
Also sorry for the Benedict Cumberbatch jumpscare, I haven't seen this movie but did hear this role was kinda offensive. I'm not supporting bad representation but this was the image that popped up in my head when I thought of "something else" that could actually be funny. Feel free to roast me on that
Something about Bartimaeus saying Nathaniel's last words for him because Nathaniel was too weak to do it himself makes me a little very insane. Not only the last thing he heard was Bartimaeus saying his own name, the last words he said aloud was his own name utterd by Bartimaeus, for him. It was a message from Nathaniel to Nouda — an overly dramatic, heroic message — and Bartimaeus made sure he receives it as it is, as if it was Nathaniel in his own might who said that with no additional commentary Bartimaeus otherwise loves so much. Nathaniel didn't ask for this. Nathaniel couldn't force him to do anything.
Bartimaeus spoke for him because he wanted Nathaniel's true name to be heard one last time. Tell me this is not the most tragic thing that you have ever read.
I have a theory that bartnat shippers just looked at this 17yo depressed, weary prune with a soul weighing already 80 years on this ungodly earth and decided that the only creature mature enough for him is the 5000yo, equally tired djinni who's seen it all except a raven, apparently. The thing is, we all know who the mature one is in their relationship.
Exactly, neither.
