Son and his friends teach his father how to dance and then celebrate with fireworks (wholesome)
I attempted barrelmancy today for the first time. And it was chaotic, a little ridiculous and humbling on my part but successful in the end :D
I really dislike disarming all of the traps in Auntie Ethel’s cellar and I am currently playing a paladin, so I can not take the deal that the hag offers without breaking my oath, which I don’t want to do. So killing Ethel in her living room it is.
The hack with using the arcane lock on the stairs doesn’t work anymore (I think they patched that), so she always escaped me. I tried it several times over several gaming session and today I just wanted to be done with it, so that we can finally descend into the Underdark to proceed with the plot.
I was completely fed up with it and decided to blow her up. So I got smoke powder barrels from the goblin camp, placed them around the house and ignited the first pair. Ethel didn’t like that so the “fight” was triggered. It was not really a fight, she also threw something exploding at us (rude!) and we just lit up the other barrels. But as I am not an expert in barrelmancy were we a little bit touched by the explosion, Shadowheart was immediately downed and the hag remained with one HP. I had Karlach finish her quickly off only to realise that Shadowheart had died in the meantime, something else exploded and the kitchen laid in ruins. But a lot of loot survived and I had an interesting chat with the hag per Speak with the dead. All in all, a very interesting experience. 7/10 Would and probably will do it again if necessary and THE WITCH IS DEAD (for Act 1) I should really start to pick up each barrel I come across with…

Barrelmancy exists in every universe. Even when it's not as explosive as usual, if there's enough barrels- then it's barrelmancy!

Me whenever my friends start prepping for barrelmancy in Baldur's Gate 3.
I see Castlevania characters also played Larian games... Barrelmancy... yes, stack those barrels in front of the enemies...
