▪ Being a father is without question the most rewarding thing I've ever done. I love watching my son grow, I love hearing his vocabulary expand and I love his curiosity. He spends just about his time with me and like all the things I like: Jay-Z, K. Dot, playing and watching basketball and all fruits. I start missing my son every day pretty much as soon as I drop him off at the sitter. Our walks through the neighborhood, our trips to the grocery store and to the park, our daily mantra, our handshake, everything warms my heart every single time. Nation makes me better in every aspect of my life. . And yes in that parent. . ▪ Every time I look at Baron's face I feel a little jolt of motivation! Now, that may sound dramatic but I know there Fathers out there that can relate. ▪ I feel like I've always been a pretty motivated person, but I have to admit that I was kind of stuck in neutral or on autopilot for a while. I was just going through the motions, not really fulfilling any purpose other than the kids and families I serve at my job every day.. but that can become routine, as it is my day job. After becoming a Father I've consistently felt the need to do more and to go harder, to put forth more effort.. not just to provide more, financially but also to be an example to my son to "strive for excellence in everything that you do" which is what my Father would always preach to my brothers and I. In this effort to be better and to do better I have found a lot of the hidden or missing happiness that I was needing. I'm giving 100% at work, I'm back using my creativity, I'm reading and praying as much as I should have always been doing, and as a result.. every part of my life is being blessed because of it. I wake up with a renewed energy every and it feels great. ▪ I love my sons hair!.. it is actually the reason why he still had as much hair as he does. My Wife wants to cut it and I won't let it happen! He's gone rock out! His first TRIM.. and TRIM only will be happening soon and we will record and document it. The Wife is a licenced hair dresser (and a natural hair specialist @curlqueenkecia) and will be doing the trim so I'll have to keep my eyes on her and make sure she doesn't take off too much.
