I haven't thought much about him, or what he really is (probably just some grubby bug thing, nothing specific), but considering he seems to know a lot about wyrms and can be found in Kingdom's Edge, I quite like the idea that he's old enough to remember stories from his parents of their own experiences with wyrms. They're smaller than wyrms, but big enough to be considered prey, so maybe they had some close calls where they were nearly hunted for food, or had to leave territory for safety. I reckon they were probably not fans, though i think young Bardoon would still be fascinated.

For some geographical context, Bone Wastes, the territory where I imagine wyrms once lived in the AU (now a cold desert graveyard of their remains), lies to the north-east of the Hallowed Mountains, where Hallownest is located, and Kingdom's Edge is where Vyrm dug through the mountain to change his form.

I imagine Bardoon's kind is somewhat rare these days, if not pretty much gone, so he might be the only one of that species still living in this territory. Perhaps the stories he's heard from his parents made him so fascinated by wyrms, that he chose to settle by the carcass of Vyrm's old body. It would be interesting to imagine his reaction to seeing Vyrm now. He knows of the change he went through, but in a way, Vyrm went through another transformation - this time, from a king, a false god, to just a regular bug. In an ironic twist of events, he is now the perfect size to be Bardoon's prey. Though I doubt Bardoon would be interested in that. He seems very intelligent, and if he really is one of the last bugs of his kind, perhaps he would see the value in letting Vyrm live his new life as the last wyrm. Maybe he'd feel sympathy for him in that way. Either way, it would definitely be an interesting interaction.

Yeah he is very interesting. If he knows about wyrms, perhaps he's a member of a species that lived alongside them. In the AU timeline they went extinct about 200 years ago, so relatively recently. It's very possible that some of his close ancestors actually saw them, so he would definitely know more about them than many in Hallownest do. Though he mentions foresight, and because in the AU it's something only FPK experienced, perhaps the rumors he heard influenced his idea of wyrms, or he simply assumed that if the king had that ability, then other wyrms had to have it as well. I don't think he actually saw one himself, I doubt he's that old, so his knowledge of them comes only from his ancestors and whatever else he's heard.
