LIVE from Budapest: CEU President Michael Ignatieff Speaks to the Bard International Network
This morning CEU President, Michael Ignatieff, gave a live-streamed talk from Budapest on “The Myth of Global Citizenship.” The talk was part of a Bard international "network course" on Global Citizenship that is being taught simultaneously at each of the six institutions of the Bard international network: Al-Quds Bard, AUCA, EHU, Smolny, Bard College Berlin, and Bard Annandale. The 120 students in the course share common readings and assignments and work collaboratively through video and email. Ignatieff spoke for 25 minutes and during the next hour fielded student questions, some which had been prepared in response to assigned readings and others which were submitted live via email. Students from the classes (covering a range of eleven time zones) were joined by a live audience of alumni/ae from network institutions who are currently enrolled as graduate students at CEU. The event was a testament to the power and promise of the Bard international network.
