New Proposed Room Rental Regulations in Barcelona
It may soon be possible to rent a single room in a private home in Catalonia. Here is a summary of the most important parts of this new proposed law:
· Only landlords who are resident in the property in question will be able to rent out a room to tourists. If you own a property in Barcelona but do not reside there then you will not be able to take advantage of this law.
· Landlords will be able to rent a maximum of 2 bedrooms to tourists.
· Landlords will be able to rent the rooms for a maximum of 4 months.
· Tourist tax will be increased to 0.65€ per person per night in Barcelona and 0.45€ per person per night in the rest of Catalonia.
