Hangover
He opened his eyes groggily and immediately regretted the action. A groan escaped his lips as his hands flew to his face, covering his eyes while he laid motionless. A subtle movement to his left caused him to attempt to open his eyes once more, carefully, slowly letting himself adjust to the intense light that must have been made worse by all the booze from the previous evening.
Once his glowing green eyes adjusted to the light he looked to his left and brushed his long hair out of his face and back to the unshaven half of his head. Dark red hair obscured the face of the one night stand in his bed and he silently groaned, wondering why he always brought them back to his place. It was like he enjoyed these awkward mornings.
His hands moved to wipe the sleep from his eyes as he slowly sat up in the bed, doing his best not to disturb the sleeping creature beside him. He stole a glance over his shoulder and frowned, it was hard to tell if he even knew this one, or if it was a faceless romp he'd picked up in a drunken stupor. A short brow perked as he eyed the tanned back and spine of his most recent lover, wondering with mild curiosity which gender he'd brought home this time. It truly could have been anything, that long hair was covering it's face and it's chest was tucked into the sheets.
With a soft grunt he dismissed his curiosity, what did it matter? He didn't even remember the sex, it could have been the best he'd ever had, but he was oblivious to it. The thought made him sigh softly as he began pulling pants on, tight leather britches that barely stretched around his large thighs. He stood slowly as he fastened the ties that held him all in place and scratched his stomach idly, a thin trail of hair moving down into his pants and between the toned muscle of his abs.
By now the sleeping person had begun stirring and Barathir was in no mood to stick around and exchange false promises of seeing them again soon and whatever else they'd want to hear. With a snort he checked his lips and ears, making sure all his metal was exactly were it belonged before he pulled a loose tunic on, only to turn and see the red haired vixen smirking up at him from the bed.
"Don't get comfortable. I expect you gone before I return." The monk informed the now obviously female elf. Her smug expression quickly dropped as she looked at him with mild shock. He stuffed a hand rolled Blood thistle cigarette between his lips and gave her a stern look before speaking again. "I'm not kidding. Get the fel out." With that he tossed the thin piece of silk he assumed was the remnants of her dress- oops- and stormed out of the stuffy apartment and headed towards the Walk, hoping to get out of the city and find some quiet in the woods for a while.
He sat perched up in a tree as he smoked his cigarette, scowling down at the ground as he tried to get over this throbbing headache and that stupid feeling he got after having a fruitless one night stand with another person he didn't give two shits about. The feeling of annoyance was so prominent he angrily flicked his cigarette, so hard in fact he broke it, cursing softly and dropping it to the ground before sulking in his perch and staring at the gates of the city.
How many more one night stands would he suffer through before he accepted that he was gone, and would never come back. Probably a lot more. He sighed softly and rubbed his eyes, "I don't even know why I try..." He mumbled to himself as he realized no matter how badly he wanted to be over the pain and the hurt, it would still bother him and he would choose the easy way out, drinking himself stupid until waking up next to some new man or woman. "At least I haven't woken up next to any trolls..." He mused with a smirk, the expression quickly making way for a few soft chuckles that turned into a thundering laugh.
He could only hope he didn't lose his mind before he lost something else.
