I know you're probably tired of Requiem of the Rose asks, but I just wanted to share something: instead of Richard getting with Buckingham, I feel like it would've been better if he got with Catesby for a while, and Richard instead had a platonic relationship with Buckingham. Also what are your thoughts on Edward (Lancaster)?
Honestly, for me it's not really the fact that Richard got together with anyone, really, it's more of a question of how. :D;; Like, out of all members of Richard's harem, Anne aside, my favorite is Henry, simply because I think that relationship is the most interesting - two really interesting characters playing off of each other in really interesting ways. Henry himself is such an intriguing character in his personal tragedy, his pitifulness and insanity, probably my favorite from this story; and in his scenes with Richard both of their personalities really "shine". You can see how he and Richard connect, what drives both of them, what this relationship means to them, and it's all interesting and emotionally hard-hitting, at least for me.
As for Buckingham, I never really cared about him in the first place, but I wouldn't have minded the relationship at all, if it had stayed the toxic self-harm that it started out as. But given that it turned into this Harlequin OMG TRU LUV fantasy with both characters taking up really stereotypical boring trashy romance traits... bleh, no. Generally I don't like the sort of romance character type he ends up becoming, and with everything else going on, both the character and the relationship and the story element are just a huuuge no from me.
As for Catesby, nothing against him, he's fine, he's a good boy, out of all of them he's really the safest, least terrible option, but to me he's just kind of... there? :D;; There's really nothing to him other than his loyalty to Richard, which is again fine, but also it doesn't make for a particularly interesting character.
As for Ed, ooh I loved Ed! I started out not caring too much about him, but as the story went on he turned into such a fun character, and by the end I was really sad to see him go, even as I thought his exit was one of the highlights of the manga.
