We had an opportunity to stopover and had some picture taking at Banaue View Points.
Banaue Rice Terraces is a World heritage Site and said to be in line with Taj Mahal of India and Angkor Wat of Cambodia. It is known to be one of the 8 wonders of the world, due to its manually made stair-like terraces made by the ancient Ifugao 2,000 years ago. There is a hearsay that when you finish the entire last step, you would actually make you around half the globe.
I was so keyed up to see this place. Before, I only saw this on textbooks and heard many stories about the culture of the villagers.
The view was undeniably beautiful. However, as you will notice it is starting to lose its splendor due to lack of care and proper preservation. People build their houses in the middle of the terraces and around which makes it to start to lose its glamour. It inexorably happens because of the increasing populace.
