I think I’m finally at a point in my sobriety where the constant hazey feeling, debilitating and persistent brain fog is lifting.
It might sound silly, but I’m surprised at how much different I feel now, compared to just last week. Not long ago at all…
More clear minded/ level headed.
Not trying to get too confident or ahead of myself, but it’s day 5 of feeling this way, where as usually I’ll have intermittent moments of clarity over the course of a day or two; then either get overwhelmed and shut down, and/“or suddenly I’m slipping back into the hazy fog of doom where nothing seems to click and I isolate myself back into reclusion. And aside from pushing myself to do/think things differently, make new changes; going to a new place for my medication management, and mental health management has helped drastically.
✨ (a better place, way more organized and treats me like a person in need of structure and proper health management, and not a customer…but I digress…)✨
Next I just need to work on becoming financially secure, then from there financially independent. Which is going to be a feat within itself. But it must be done. I’m hungry and tired of being controlled and financially abused by a sad insecure bearded alcoholic. Who is also doubling down on attempted power trips. Especially since I’ve been holding my ground and standing up for myself as of late. He hates it. I can tell.
It’s really telling, as soon as there were signs of improvement, the people that were bad for me either doubled down, or faded out.
Thanks for making it easier on me, to figure out who’s really there for me, or not. I’d say it’s been real, but it hasn’t been at all. Success truly is the best revenge. And I’m basking in it, even if it’s small victories right now.
