The city of Bakhmut, more than a year after its "liberation" by russia. It used to be one of the very few cities in the east of Ukraine where some of the historical architecture has been preserved, as most of it was lost during WW2 and replaced with soviet ugliness.
Wine was made here, salt was mined, metal was processed, and more than 70,000 people called it home.
Then russia came and took it all away.
Was looking for an old message and saw an old post collecting donations for Bakhmut back in 2023, before the occupation, and got so heartbroken because this is what Bakhmut looks like now
