Rambo Island: While in #AnvayaCove for the day, we found out that our trip happened to coincide with their #AnvayaKidfest event wherein kids (and their parents) could enjoy a number of fun activities. One of them was the Kids’ Craft section wherein artistic participants would be given 60 minutes to create their respective watercolor masterpieces. The directions were simple: Draw water, an island, a tree on the aforementioned island, birds in the sky, and a boat with portholes. Easy right? Well, somewhere along the dissemination of our drawing objectives, I suddenly felt inspired to draw/paint #FirstBlood’s #JohnRambo—before putting in the required water, boat, island, and tree. Where did this come from? I do not know. What I do know is that I sat in that toddlers chair for well over and hour— hunched over an equally small table—with the intention to putting the only surviving member of #BakerTeam on paper. The result was the first piece of art that I’ve been able to put together since I suffered a debilitating migraine that left me far from my “usual self” for three whole days. Now doing the math in my head, that was more than two years ago. Glad to have taken advantage of this opportunity and let the creative process flow. Learning: Always remember that creativity—in any form—is just in the back of your mind waiting to be found. All you need to do is take the time to shine a light on it.
