Delightful and colorful party balloon-themed cookies that are perfect for celebrations and events.

Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup buttermilk. Assorted food coloring. Edible metallic silver paint. Edible glitter.

Instructions: Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up. Put parchment paper on the bottom of a baking sheet. Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl using a whisk. Mix the butter and sugar in a different bowl until they are light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing in the buttermilk every so often. Don't mix any further than that. Put the dough into different bowls and color each one with food coloring to get the colors you want for the balloons. Shape little balls out of a small amount of each color of dough. Put on the baking sheet that has been prepared. For 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Place the cookies on a wire rack to cool all the way down. After the cookies have cooled, use edible metallic silver paint to make balloon strings on them. For extra flair, add edible glitter. Wait until the paint and glitter are dry to serve.
