“Luca, it’s baby’s first Christmas! Aren’t you excited?!” Jacob exclaimed, just as you went to put Bailey to bed.

“Is Father Christmas going to bring gifts for Bailey too?” Luca asked, absentmindedly playing with the hem of his dad’s t-shirt.

“Of course,” Jacob smiled, “and Luca? Don’t worry, he’ll bring you exactly the same amount of presents as he usually does.”

Luca giggled, sitting up excitedly, “really?”

Jacob nodded with a knowing smile.

“Okay, she’s asleep,” you smiled, “what are you two talking about?”

“Father Christmas!” Luca grinned, leaning back against his dad’s chest.

“Really?” you smirked, “well, you know there’s more to Christmas than just Santa.”

“Yes,” Luca sighed, “there’s dinner as well.”

“Exactly!” you exclaimed, “and we need dessert. So will you make a gingerbread house with me?”

“Yes, yes!” Luca cheered.

“Shh, shh,” Jacob chuckled, “Bailey’s asleep, baby.”

“But will Santa not come?” Luca pouted.

“No, no,” Jacob promised, “he won’t come until, hmm, 2am? And it’s only 6pm now.”

“Okay!” Luca giggled, running to the kitchen.

“He has no idea what that means,” you chuckled, Jacob laughing in response.
