BACH, CARL PHILIPP EMANUEL (1714-1788) Quinto hijo de Johann Sebastián, fue músico de la corte de Federico I de Prusia desde 1740 hasta 1767. Sobresalió por sus ejecuciones en el teclado, sus sonatas para piano y su tratado, sobre la técnica del teclado, publicado en dos volúmenes (1753-1762), obra fundamental para la interpretación de la música del siglo XVIII. También escribió sinfonías, conciertos, música religiosa y de cámara. Abandonó la polifonía de su padre, anunciando el estilo de Haydn y Mozart, quienes reconocieron su influencia.
