Madame White Bone is in close pursuit of Tang Monk as he escapes from the Skeleton Cave, but she finds herself blocked by Monkey King and his duplicates!
Outnumbered as she is, Madame White Bone remains fiercely defiant!
However, Madame White Bone cannot match Monkey King’s power, and she suffers the same fate as her sister.
Monkey King then obliterates White Skeleton Peak, destroying all the monsters that were there.
His work there now done, Monkey King rejoins his brothers as they continue their journey to the west!
Well, that’s it, folks. We’ve come to the end of Princess Iron Fan, as well as the end of Shaw Brothers’ Journey to the West film series.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these scenes from the films as much as I have putting them together. Of course, nothing beats actually watching the actual films, which I highly recommend. You should be able to find all 4 films on eBay, with #3, The Cave of Silken Web, probably being the easiest to find because it was the only one released in the US.
As I’ve stated in a previous post, I really wish Shaw Brothers had not stopped at 4 films and had continued this series. Of the many versions of Journey to the West (films and television series) I have seen - and I certainly have not seen them all - this series of films is by far my favorite!
I’m going to take a break from Monkey King and friends for now and focus on some other things. However, I can say that when they do return to this blog, it will be as I present the fever dream that is The Fantastic Magic Baby. That’s a Shaw Brothers’ film adapting the Red Boy episode from Journey to the West.
