Can you tell us more about your STUNNING Adaar? She looks so interesting!
hey there, sure!! itās nice of you to ask about her!
this hereās Katara, myĀ āthe last thing i wanna do is leadā Valo-Kas mercenary girl turnedĀ āactually, being in power gives me all the resources i ever needed to stay safe, iāll do everything i can to not lose this positionā inquisitor!sheās aĀ Tal-Vashoth mage, who witnessed her grandmother being forcefully roped into the whole Saarebas business before her parents left the Qun, so naturally sheās very keen on staying out of the spotlight, and as far away as possible from parties who are looking at her a little bit too interested.
prior to getting sent to the Conclave and being declared the Herald of Andraste, she was actually helping out my Hawke with Kirkwall, so she has first hand experiences with all theĀ āwhen shit hits the fanā moments! only she thought sheād gotten good at avoiding them herself, while clearly she hadnāt though.
she initially only agreed to help the Inquisition because her plan to just r u n away didnāt quite work out the way she thought it would. and now, with an arm thatās constantly in pain, a terrible fear of every qunari who follows the qun, and every templar she comes across, all eyes are decidedly on her. suddenly people call her theĀ āHerald of Andrasteā, although she wants nothing to do with that. suddenly sheāsĀ āThe Inquisitorā and slowly but surely the people she feared look at her in adoration and treat her with respect.
itās a complicated thing with her, because she doesnāt enjoy anything about this in the slightest. she doesnāt like being tied to one place and she doesnāt want to be the number one contact point for every tiny grievance that needs settling. what she DOES enjoy, though, is that she can wield her magic without having to fear the possibility that someone will forcibly remove her horns, chain her up and sew her mouth shut. the one good thing about being the Inquisitor is that she doesnāt have to hide anymore. and once that realization settles in, she does everything to gain more power.
it makes her reckless at best, and at some points downright cruel. itās a good thing her friendships with the companions are as tight as they are, because they always help her find her way back to her usual self. they understand sheās not doing it for the sake of being evil, but because sheās a woman who witnessed her fair share of abuse towards her people and is scared itāll happen to her and her family again. Hawke coming to Skyhold with Kataraās brother in tow is an important moment for her, because itās the moment where she finally gets to work through her trauma with him. he hasnāt been doing well at all either.
by the time Trespasser comes around, sheās taking other peopleās feelings and lives into consideration when making decisions. sheās willing to lend an ear to her friends and protect them from harm. sometimes she even goes out of her way to surprise them with something nice. itās a slow learning curve, but sheās getting there, step by step.however, once all the events of Trespasser reach their climax, she really does display that certain kind of recklessness again. a lotās on the line there, her friendsā lives, her familyās lives, the entire fate of Thedas, of course. and sheās found the one person to blame for it.in tne end, the Inquisition remains, and their goal is to stop him at all costs. no matter what, i donāt think sheāll have any mercy to spare for him.
