Baeza trains for the 2025 Breeders Cup Classic
(x)
Sovereignty Wins, Baeza Places, And Hill Road Shows
[TECH AND FINANCIAL] Immediately after Sovereignty’s decisive win over Baeza and Hill Road in the Jim Dandy stretch, trainer William Mott was, for a reserved South Dakotan, emotive. His athlete had just brought one of his usual deep closing runs to take the win, and in fact for a few strides he was running dead last as he and jockey Junior Alvarado fired up. The run was not simply in time to hit…
#Sovereignty takes the roses at the 151st #KentuckyDerby, with #JuniorAlvarado aboard, his first Derby win in six rides. #Journalism placed, #Baeza showed. Congratulations to all!

It perplexes me that Journalism's (supposed) main competition is Baeza according to the NBC nutjobs. Like the also eligible horse gets in and now suddenly it's not a one horse race anymore.
Do I think he's probably the best horse in the race? Sure. But the Derby doesn't always go to the best horse, does it?
And as cool as it would be for Puca to be the mama of a Derby winner again, Baeza probably won't be on my tickets.
Last year Forever Young spoiled my superfecta, so maybe this year I'll get it lol
Next up though, Fierceness vs Locked!
