modern era jehan/combeferre hcs:

-no one expects them to get together in the first place. jehan is very flirty with all of their friends but combferre especially, and ferre absolutely cannot distinguish if it's intentional or not. it takes so long for combeferre to actually get the hint- it takes him two years and he only realizes when jehan bumps shoulders with him during a movie they had gone to see (they both love artsy foreign films) and gives him a look and combeferre has a brain-blast moment and kisses them

-combeferre collects vinyls and when they hang out, jehan likes to pick out a record and smile and lay atop of him on the couch. there r a lot of lazy kisses set to jazz or 70s german pop or american r&b. it's really, really nice.

-they collect a lot of clothing donations for community service. jehan really cares about waste in the clothing industry and the lack of nice pieces in thrift stores due to the gentrification of thrifting and combeferre likes to help them put together clothing donation boxes at their work places for each of les amis and create posters and ads online. the project is their baby

-jehan is a hypebeast and combeferre is kind of just like a sweater/jeans kind of guy. they make no sense together physically and sometimes combeferre watches jehan put on a supreme sweatshirt and he's kind of like "what am i doing." but then jehan turns and grins at him and he remembers that jehan has absolutely no sense of style, but combeferre loves the person inside the awful, overpriced clothing

-i still stand by jehan being a freestyle rapper and just a rapper in general and they've written a ton of verses about combeferre. the people at jehan's venue are kind of like "literally who is this guy" and then one day combeferre comes to see a freestyle competition that jehan is in and they're all sort of like ohhhhhh..... sweater guy, huh.

-jehan also has a sketchbook full of sketches of combeferre when he's still asleep in bed and jehan's too awake to fall back to sleep

-combeferre takes jehan out on dates in the spring to a butterfly conservatory and gets really excited about it. it's a yearly thing that they count down the days for. jehan loves to see how ecstatic combeferre gets when a butterfly lands on them and is really glad just to see him so happy

-neither of them r sweets people. combeferre really loves savoury foods and jehan is a salty kind of person. they rarely eat sweet things, other than fruit

-speaking of food, they have a takeout map going on. they've made it their mission to get take out from every possibly ethnic background in paris and try a bunch of different foods each week. last week they had fufu and egusi from a nigerian restaurant, this week they're getting some pirozhki from a ukrainian place they found

-jehan borrows a lot of clothing from combeferre when they're over. combeferre will wake up and find jehan in his kitchen wearing a crewneck of his with no trousers and combeferre just gets the BIGGEST heart eyes

-combeferre also just loves physical affection so much. jehan gets a lot of neck kisses and hugs from behind as they make dinner and snuggles in bed. combeferre needs touch. luckily enough for him, jehan is more than happy to provide

canon era:

-marius borrows a lot of courfeyrac’s clothing and it’s very obvious. some days he walks in with a particular hat or cravat and bahorel is like hmmmmmm yeah you arent slick

-they share a bed even before getting together. their entire thing is just “there was only one bed”. anyway, courfeyrac is a big cuddler and doesn’t have a bed warmer or wood for a fire so he’s always sort of clung onto marius during fall and winter.

-they both study in their universities library as well. courfeyrac gets bored by this easily though, so studying normally turns into hidden kisses behind bookshelves after about an hour

-they do their hair together in the mornings. marius is taller than courfeyrac so he can pomade and fix the back parts of courfeyrac’s head that he has trouble doing on his own

-courfeyrac tries really hard to help marius change his thoughts and opinions without being an asshole and part of this is reading out loud from his philosophy and theory books when they’re in bed, fingers playing with marius’s hair as he lays his head on courfeyrac’s chest

modern era

-they actually meet through an anonymous note takers program. courfeyrac has super neat handwriting and after getting medicated for his adhd he’s been top of his class for years. marius needs assistance in his courses because it’s too much and autistic!marius my beloved gets really stressed out to the point where going to class is so overwhelming bc he’s only gonna fail anyway if he cant write fast enough and pay attention and listen and…. after talking to his guidance counselor he signs up for nd student support

-courfeyrac is not very good at being anonymous because he thinks marius is rlly cute and says hello one day bc they have the same sociology course and he brings up that he’s a note taker and marius kinda blinks and he’s like “oh that’s funny i have someone take notes for me.” and they’re both kinda like wait ?? so marius shows him the photocopied notes the professor has been giving him and they’re courfeyrac’s

-anyway they become friends and marius rooms with him their second year and they get together like junior-senior year after a severe heartbreak on marius’s end

-marius has really big hyperfixations on history and a lot of the dates he plans are to museums. courfeyrac likes to hold his hand and listen to him infodump about ww2, it’s music to his ears

-courfeyrac’s wallpaper on his phone has been a photo of marius, only changed once a year to a new photo of marius, since he was 20. but at first, it was a photo of him AND marius so it wouldnt be weird

-every sunday, they make pancakes together. courfeyrac likes his with chocolate chips and marius likes his with blueberries. they’re expert pancake makers- it’s the one type of cooking they both excel in

A random headcanon: combeferre has the highest spice tolerance out of all of les amis and he’s also the best cook. courfeyrac and enjolras depend on him for survival bc they max out at frozen meals you microwave

A random headcanon: ive said this like 40 billion times but i always imagine him having a clubbed foot that was never properly taken care medically when he was a kid. he uses a cane to walk and typically only wears one shoes because the angle of his foot makes it too painful to wear another one. in the winter, he triples up on wool socks and does what he can to stay out of the snow
