It never gets easier, really. She just learns to hide it better. To pretend she’s okay, but when your person goes away it’s just never truly easy. Kachina had thought she was alone at home. Badou and Sanzo being out for whatever it is they usually do. She thought she had the place ALL to herself to be a sad, sad bean. Bleu’s here, so she supposes she’s not alone 100%. The big dog lays beside her, rests his chin on top her leg and he sighs. He can tell she’s very sad. Kachina is very sad. 

There are things that Mello has a recollection of, vaguely --  distant memories of time in another place that is so unlike this place in many ways, yet also so startlingly similar.  

His musings are cut short as he sees someone from those days, minding his own business. Or, perhaps more accurately, pretending to -- if Mello remembers anything about Badou at all.

She’s thinking of the right way to form the question. She doesn’t want him thinking something else. DIdn’t want him misunderstanding her if it came to that. She’s humming in thought, “What’s your ideal person? Like WHAT kind of person would attract you to them?” 

“Baaaadou!” She’s not sure if he’s still sleeping, but if he is, he better prepare for the knocking of doom on his door. She knocks pretty quickly and waits for a second then knocks again. “Baaaadou! ARE YOU AWAKE? hurry up and come out, it’s almost December!”
