My first thought is that the Dan really sucks sometimes. I agree, it was frustrating just because I feel like the characters went immediately back into their same old routine. HOWEVER, reading in-between the lines, I feel like I understand that scene’s importance.

So… Jade says it outright, “This is the first social event at this school we’re going to since we got back together.” My little baby was akeljfnwjknf nervous. OKAY. She’s just hiding her vulnerability behind her usual mask of snarkiness. I think she’s especially worried because one of the reasons her and Beck broke up in the first place was because Beck became obsessed with the idea that other people viewed them as “the worst couple.” I think Beck started caring too much about what others said about them, and Jade was well aware of this.

And so, she was probably freaking out that people would make some comment about them not suiting one another or something, and she was probably worried that Beck would start dwelling on this and maybe leave her again (Note: hang on to anything else you want to hang on to and Jade instantly grabbing Beck).

My personal headcanon is that Beck instantly knew something was bothering Jade, and probably dragged her to the janitor’s closest to discuss it. Jade would have confessed her feelings and Beck would have reassured her. We see in TFB&J that Beck finally realises he doesn’t care what people think about his relationships anymore. He knows what he likes in a girl, which is someone who fights back and has their own opinions. Sure, this might mean that they butt heads at times, but that’s what Beck wants. Everyone probably thought he would have been great with Meredith. She was a nice, easygoing girl who he would have had no conflict with. Out in public, they probably would even appear to be a ‘perfect’ couple. But Beck realises he doesn’t want this because it’s boring. He wanted Jade. He missed Jade. Back to ‘One Thousand Berry Balls,’ I’m sure Beck would have told this to Jade. They were definitely acting very couply that night (and Beck was the one to instigate their kiss during Tori and Andre’s song).

So yes, that brief little scene seemed out of place and sort of annoying… but I think it’s not necessarily an indicator that the couple had not learnt anything from being apart. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I have so many headcanons regarding bade, (some of which I incorporate into my fanfictions… literally, my story “emotions” should be renamed “my personal headcanons” because I imagine majority of those scenes would have taken place, i.e. the prome aftermath, Beck’s first time meeting Mr West, etc). If you give me a specific scene or scenario, I can probably write something up. But here are just a few I have:

Beck introduced Jade to coffee. For their first date, Beck took Jade to a cafe. Jade, being stubborn, refused to tell Beck what to order for her, so he simply got her a coffee. At first, she didn’t like the bitter taste and had to quickly pour in three sugars. As the date progressed though, she found herself liking Beck more and more, and somehow accordingly, she began to like coffee more and more too. Now it’s her favourite beverage (and Beck’s still her favourite person).

Beck and Jade enjoy a weird form of foreplay where they love to rile each other up by fighting. In Tori Tortures Teacher, Beck and Jade weren’t really angry with one another at all. They were just messing with each other, building up some tension and aggression for later. Side note, for some reason live music also really puts Beck in the mood… if you know what I mean. ;)

Whenever Beck catches a cold, Jade looks after him. Beck tries to do the same for Jade whenever she’s unwell, but usually ends up giving her more of a headache.

Beck tried asking Jade out for four months straight to no avail. Finally, in a desperate ploy to get her attention, he asked out another girl who’d been interested in him for a while. Sure enough, the second Jade sees him holding another girls hand, she pushes the girl into the lake and kisses Beck.
